How to Create Custom Ringtones:
- Find the song in iTunes you want to use.
- Ringtones are up to 40 seconds long. So play the song, and find which 40 seconds of the song you want to use.
- Make a note of the time in the song where your 40-seconds start, and the time where you want it to end.
- Right-Click the song and click Get Info
- Click the Options Tab
- Check "Start Time" and enter the time you recorded above
- Check "Stop Time" and enter the time you recorded (or add 40 to the time you started)
- Click Ok
- Right-Click the song and choose "Create AAC Version"
- Find the new song it made, and right-click and choose "Show in Windows Explorer"
- A folder should have opened with the song. Rename the extension from .m4a to .m4r (If you don't have extensions showing, see the bottom)
- Double click the file you just renamed
- Close the window, and go back to iTunes.
- You should now have the song listed in your Ringtones area in the iTunes library
- You can now delete the new aac version of the song you created in your library - it isn't needed anymore
