How to Create Custom Ringtones:
  1. Find the song in iTunes you want to use.
  2. Ringtones are up to 40 seconds long. So play the song, and find which 40 seconds of the song you want to use.
  3. Make a note of the time in the song where your 40-seconds start, and the time where you want it to end.
  4. Right-Click the song and click Get Info
  5. Click the Options Tab
  6. Check "Start Time" and enter the time you recorded above
  7. Check "Stop Time" and enter the time you recorded (or add 40 to the time you started)
  8. Click Ok
  9. Right-Click the song and choose "Create AAC Version"
  10. Find the new song it made, and right-click and choose "Show in Windows Explorer"
  11. A folder should have opened with the song. Rename the extension from .m4a to .m4r (If you don't have extensions showing, see the bottom)
  12. Double click the file you just renamed
  13. Close the window, and go back to iTunes.
  14. You should now have the song listed in your Ringtones area in the iTunes library
  15. You can now delete the new aac version of the song you created in your library - it isn't needed anymore
